The idea
Most calorie trackers lose people at the same step: searching a database and weighing every ingredient. Kalori removes that step. You write or say “two eggs, toast and an orange juice” and the app does the rest.
Features
- AI food logging by text or voice, with automatic calorie and macro calculation
- A public food library with more than 4 million items
- Weight tracking with progress photos
- Timeframe-based calorie planning toward a goal
- Sync across devices
How it is built
- React Native with Expo and TypeScript, TanStack Query for server state
- Supabase backend: PostgreSQL with custom row-level security policies and Google OAuth
- Deno Edge Functions for serverless AI processing
- OpenAI Whisper for voice transcription and Claude for nutrition parsing and recommendations
- RevenueCat for subscriptions and Sentry for monitoring
I own the whole product: architecture, design, development, store releases and support.
